Road
Drive in the comfort of your own vehicle, direct to Chikwenya Safari Lodge. 4 x 4 / Diff Lock vehicles are recommended.
Directions to Chikwenya Safari Lodge
From Harare :-
Harare/Kariba/Chirunda Road.
Harare to Makuti – tar – 295 kms
Continue past Makuti for another 15kms (tar) – you will come to Marongora National Parks Office on your left hand side.
Report to Marongora National Parks for Parks Entry Fees (please keep your receipts on you at all times).
Continue towards Chirundu for a further 5 kms (tar) and you will come to the Mana Pools entry boom on the right hand side.
30kms of dirt (see note) – cross the Ruchomechi River and turn right at this T section.
20kms of dirt – turn left onto the Chikwenya road (it is sign posted)
50 kms of dirt – you will arrive at a big Baobab Tree – pass the tree (it will be on your right hand side) and follow the signs to Private Entry – continue straight.
The camp is approximately 3 kms from the Baobab tree.
Please Note
The first 30kms of dirt road are rather bad – rocky with corrugations.
The 2nd 20kms of dirt – this is a good road (we actually grade it each year)
The 3rd 53kms of dirt – there are a couple of river beds to cross (4×4 or Dif lock are recommended)”
